The Action Network / Better Collective
February, 2021 - October, 2022
The Action Network
After two years at Google, Ari, a highly regarded senior from my FanDuel days, reached out with an opportunity I couldn't pass up: a chance to lead analytics at a sports betting media startup, The Action Network. I'd be his right-hand, leading a small team of analysts and building out reporting infrastructure for both the media and affiliate sides of the business.
One month in, the company was sold to Better Collective, a European sports betting affiliate platform. Ari left for Fanatics shortly after, leaving me navigating a new ownership structure without a mentor. Over the next 20 months, I led analytics through an acquisition integration, a business model transition, a period of rapid growth, and eventually a significant organizational contraction that led to my departure.
It was the most challenging and most formative professional period before healthcare automation.
